Wengen in the Jungfrau Region

The Jungfrau Region is a unique holiday destination in the Bernese Highlands which is world famous for the mountain trinity of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The area around the main towns of Wengen, Interlaken, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, and Mürren provide countless possibilities in all seasons.

Jungfraujoch

The icy air brushes your face, the snow crunches under your feet, and the panorama takes your breath away. On one side you can see as far as the Vosges in France, on the other side the Aletsch Glacier, lined with four-thousand-meter peaks. Standing on the Jungfraujoch, 3,454 meters above sea level, you see how beautiful nature is.

Lauterbrunnen

One of the most impressive valleys located between gigantic sheer rock walls and mountain peaks. With 72 thundering waterfalls, imposing valley ends, colorful alpine meadows, lonely mountain inns and railroads to the valley shoulders, the Lauterbrunnen Valley is one of the greatest natural spectacles in Switzerland.

 

Männlichen

Männlichen is the starting point for countless hikes. Mountain hikers can reach Alpiglen or Kleine Scheidegg on high-altitude trails. For families, the Liselotte theme trail and the Royal Walk have a few surprises in store. If you want to go even higher, take a short hike to the Männlichen summit. 

Grosse Scheidegg

Grosse Scheidegg

Located at 1962 meters, accessible by bus from Meiringen and Grindelwald. Grosse Scheidegg is extremely popular with bikers and hikers: firstly, Wetterhorn, Eiger and Engelhörner offer a stunning backdrop and secondly, the road is largely car-free.
The hike to the First or Rosenlaui Gorge is also very popular.

Kleine Scheidegg

Kleine Scheidegg, located at 2,070 meters above sea level, in the midst of alpine beauty above Grindelwald and Wengen, at the foot of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. This is where two cogwheel railroads meet and where those who want to explore the most beautiful region in the Bernese Highland meet. Because nature is very close and many excursions are tempting: Would you rather go to the Jungfraujoch, hike on the Eiger Trail or conquer the Lauberhorn?

Thun

Thun & Surfing

Historic buildings, impressive high-trottoirs with history, the white castle on the Schlossberg and the great view over the lake and the imposing Bernese Alps in the background – Thun’s charm enchants locals and guests alike. For the more adventurous, Thun is also great for surfing. At a lock you can improve and present your tricks. The city also offers great shopping opportunities.
